The Musée du Louvre houses 35,000 works of art drawn from eight departments, displayed in over 60,000 square meters of exhibition space dedicated to the permanent collections. Explore the works on display, taking a thematic or cross-departmental approach.

Each season, the Louvre features a series of temporary exhibitions, each the result of the latest expert research. Some of these shows are more suitable for the general public, but in their conception they act as echoes, versions and counterpoints to the museum's collections.

The Tuileries and Carrousel gardens form a pleasant, leafy setting for the Louvre palace. A delight at any season of the year, they provide the perfect place for a relaxing stroll and offer a range of activities for visitors of all ages.

Amazing museum that can not be experienced in a single visit. Can feel a bit overwhelming with the amount of art but for me, that is a good thing. My husband and I usually split it into 3 days and then break it up so we don't feel like we are missing something and get flustered. The Mona Lisa is definitely something to see, but be prepared to deal with large crowds surrounding it at all times. Overall, a really great museum.

Classy, comprehensive, popular museum that will keep you engaged for hours. No self-proclaimed museum fan can say he lived until he has visited the Louvre.
