A Swedish success story...

The Jewish Museum in Stockholm is pleased to present the previously hidden story of how a small number of immigrants from Denmark and Germany changed Sweden. Together with their children and grandchildren they modernized business practice in their new homeland, as well as reforming manufacturing and banking. They were responsible for creating our first private art galleries and they built our first department stores. They also installed the first moving staircase in Sweden! A Swedish success story… is, moreover, concerned with successful integration showing how, step by step, Sweden accepted these immigrants with their foreign religion, allowing them to pursue their interests to the benefit of the entire country.
